Women finish One Run, one runs for November Project
Two women finish the One Run, and one has a November Project jacket, which is a fitness and running club. Spectators stand behind them on Boylston Street in front of the Boston Public Library cheering for runners.
Photos taken by MarathonFoto photographers at "One Run" (or #OneRun), an event held on Saturday, May 25th, 2013. The event gave runners who were unable to finish the 2013 Boston Marathon the opportunity to run the final mile of the race. Runners gathered at Kenmore Square, and the race began at 10am.
According to the event's Facebook Event invitation, "One Run" was organized "by several running clubs, teams, events, businesses and organizations in the Greater Boston area."
Here's the description of "One Run" posted on the event's Facebook Event invitation:
"Our main goals with the #onerun are to offer runners and spectators an opportunity to experience the magic of the final mile of the Boston Marathon while also attracting thousands of consumers into the Back Bay.
If you ran on April 15th but did not finish, pin up your 2013 Boston Marathon bib number and join us in Kenmore Square to finish your race. If you were a spectator on April 15th, or ran and finished, please line the streets of the final mile to cheer on the thousands of runners who will finally get to finish their 2014 Boston Marathon. With that said, all are welcome to run - nobody will be turned away.
This is a free event open to anyone - registration is not required.
The roads will be closed to traffic. (Commonwealth, Hereford, Boylston)."
