I had just completed my first Boston Marathon (and first marathon ever). I had run as part of the Miles for Miracles Team for Boston Children's Hospital. Upon crossing the finish line, aside from the relief of completing the race, I was initially concerned that my legs would cramp up if I stopped moving, so I quickly grabbed a bottle of water and…

I was in my office two blocks away. I was outside ten minutes before...too close for comfort.

We were at the finish line, but decided we were too early to see our friends finish so we went to grab a bit to eat. We were on our way back about to head toward the finish line when we felt the first explosion. My friend's spouse (who lived through 9/11) immediately knew what it was and that is when we backed away and got as far away as possible.

I was at work, about to go outside to the finish line to take some photos of one of our employees. She finished the race at 2:47, and I was about to step out. Instead, I decided to go to the conference room where I saw the explosions. I was thankful Trinity Church obstructed most of my view.

My fiancee and I had just left from Boylston St. in the alley between the Lenox and Lord & Taylor due to crowds. Our friend told us she would meet us later and continued to watch the race. We walked about two blocks when we heard two loud booms, a first followed quickly by a second.
Following the second sound, a discussion ensued about what would…

We had just pushed through a large crowd outside of Fenway and were headed down Comm Ave when my friend, new to Boston, asked me why the runners stopped in the road. We were headed to the finish line to meet friends...
