My wife and I were leaving...

My wife and I were leaving the Red Sox game (just ended) to join the rest of her family in front of the Lennox hotel to cheer on her aunt. Travelling was slow as the crowd was at least 10 -15 people deep. We were in front of Lord and Taylor when the first bomb went off. When the second one went off 10 seconds later I immediately feared for my life.…

I'm a student at Emerson College....

I'm a student at Emerson College. My friends and I were walking down Boylston Street, at the corner of Ring Road on the Lord and Taylor side, when the first bomb went off. We stopped to look, thinking it was a canon for the race, but immediately realized something very wrong had happened. It only felt like 4-5 seconds later, but maybe I was in…

I was standing in front of...

I was standing in front of the Lord & Taylor. It was my husband's sixth Boston Marathon and I'd never seen him cross the finish line. I decided to surprise him this year. I left my 4 and 2 year old sons with relatives at the Copley Marriott hotel and went down to Boylston Street alone. I managed to make my way to the front of the barricades…

I was standing in front of the lord and taylors waiting for my manager to finish the race. When the first bomb with our i thought it was cannon or a transformer blew. Then I saw the smoke coming towards me.

My wife, 3 kids and I...

My wife, 3 kids and I were heading down Ring Road. We had just been on Boyston attempting to get to the finish line to meet multiple family members and greet our Sister and best friend as the completed their first marathon. We were right in front of Lord and Taylor and trapped in a crowd of people. I was feeling uncomfortable having nowhere to…

The details are vivid yet hazy...

The details are vivid yet hazy and deafening yet silent. It's hard to process everything now, even a few days later. I was standing with my boyfriend and his roommate's family directly in front of Lord and Taylor, up front against the road-blocking barricades, internally complaining about how I wished we were on the other side of the road in the…

I had planned on volunteering near...

I had planned on volunteering near the cactus club at a post-marathon event but running about 1 hour late. I was coming from Northeastern and walking up Boylston, trying to figure out a way to get to the other side of the street. Probably a product of failed logic, I thought that if I went passed the finish line and copley square that I would be…

I was between the Lenox and...

I was between the Lenox and Lord & Taylor, with my back to the alley. When I saw the first bomb go off, I immediately sat my son in his stroller and tried to leave - there was no doubt in my mind it was a bomb. As I tried to leave, the second bomb went off. It shook the buildings around us, and I knew it was closer than the first had been. I…

An hour before the explosions happened,...

An hour before the explosions happened, I saw smoke coming out of the ground (near by Lord & Taylor) across from where I stand. I thought it was odd, I told my friend to look and he told me it was just smoke coming from the underground through hotels and restaurants. I immediately had a bad feeling then. :(

I left an hour early before the…

My three children and I were...

My three children and I were walking on Boylston towards the finish line, crossing Fairfield St about 20 seconds before when we saw the first blast ahead of us. My first reaction was to run in the opposite direction, but as I started to turn, the second blast occured just behind us.We were caught in between the two blasts. My nine year old daughter…
