National news media outside Copley Square on Wednesday, April 17th 2013

Members of the nation news media broadcasting stories about the Boston Marathon bombings just outside of Copley Square (on Dartmouth Street). I was on the corner of...

I was on the corner of Dartmouth & Boylston Street from 11:30am to 1:00pm. I spoke to a very nice volunteer, a student in Boston. He even helped ask a jerk who was in the restricted area and was blocking the view from everybody, but especially little kids,if he could move slightly. The rude guy refused to move. Anyway, I can't help thinking of this…

Had run 11 Boston Marathons since 2001, but decided to take this year off and cheer others on. Was standing on the corner of this raised stone treebox to get a better sightline above crowd on the ground in front of me. Alternately, was looking left up Boylston Street in hopes of spotting my cousin (a runner) coming through, and right down Boylston…

I was walking with my wife down Dartmouth St toward Boylston St when the explosions happened. After the second explosion we saw people running away from the finish line. First responders stated bringing patients toward the medical tent. Bystanders including myself and my wife started helping wounded patients into the medical tent.

My uncle was due, according to the clock to be crossing the finish line. I said, "He should be crossing right now!" Moments later, a violent boom shook the ground and a plume of smoke appeared above the…

People started to yell to leave and get out. We had such a fear that smoke, debris, or a stampede of people would come down Boylston and onto Dartmouth. So we headed toward the…

I was watching the marathon at a few spots from BC to Kenmore on my bike and was headed to the finish line on Exeter. Boylston looked really crowded ahead, so I cut through the alley to get to the finish line from Dartmouth. I heard the two boom and saw the plumes of smoke above. At Dartmouth, the exodus had begun and I had to go left. I…

I was in front of the Sugar Heaven store watching the race and waiting for a friend to finish his first marathon.

I was snapping some pictures and enjoying the day.

I realized that my friend was not to arrive for a while, so I decided to get an ice cream at Sugar Heaven.

I finished the ice cream and moved back into the crowd, but a bit…
